For autumn-winter 19/20, Amrich aims to create an immaculate confluence of shapes, fabrics, colours and surfaces informed by their rich repository of engagement with Indian handloom and craft traditions. The exquisite hand-loomed and hand-crafted natural textiles are specially developed in different parts of the country in hand-spun cotton, wool, silks and silk blends.
There is a fun take to mixing and matching of sheer and opaque through different textiles and fabric constructions in the line. The use of thick hand-spun cotton yarn woven with desi tussar silk on an open weave to create exquisite translucent fabrics whilst also making use of the hand-spun yarns to play with checks and stripes. There is newness created in the shibori patterns by the way of introducing interesting fabric manipulations in the process. Hand-embroideries with thread-work and beads and hand-made metal sequins add an element of interest to the elegant textiles.
The colour palette is rich and bold in shades of black, red, blue and green.
